This Monday I have to turn in my VFW rough draft. I've never entered in a VFW contest so I'm not sure how good my essay is going to turn out. If you'd like tolearn more about the VFW essay then you can go to http://www.vfw.org/index.cfm?fa=cmty.leveld&did=150 This will lead you right to the page that explains about the contest this year. The first place winner receives somewhere around two hundred to five hundred dollars towards a scholarship. The winners then compete for nationals. The first place winner of the nationals wins thirty-thousand dollars towards a scholarship. Most likely, I will not win any of these scholarship. It's still good to participate in contests like this because they help improve your writing, your grammar, and your knowledge. You should visit the website though so you can really get more information about VFW. Have fun learning!

I really didn't like this assignment. Writing has never really been my strong point. it took me a long time to just do the rough draft and with ALL the projects for Egypt night I’m not sure I'll be able to do the actual essay!:(
ReplyDeleteYou'll do great on the assignment! I like writing about things I enjoy, but school essays? I don't usually look forward to those. I take the Biblical Worldview class during history so I don't have to worry about all the Egyptian projects, I am getting behind in your mom's literature class though. This first year of highschool is really difficult for me!
ReplyDeletehey good luck on the vfw!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! You too!
