Feeling excited :D (because Ignite! is tomorrow!!!!), pretty sad :'( (because VBS is over for the year ), and tiredd. I'm so glad for this past week (including the rest of it). God has taught me some things this past week that I really needed to learn, some that hurt at times, but in the end will be rewarding if I do my best to stick to his plan, which won't be easy but it won't be impossible with Him either! Nothings impossible with God! < Speaking of which, I believe that was the theme for VBS this past week. ;) I hope that all the children who came have been encouraged too. :) I wish we could do VBS every month or two! :D Its just been so wonderful to see all these smiling faces of all these children who came; all the jokes, talks and funny skits shared with friends; and really, its just been such a blessing to spend time with all these wonderful people (the ones I know and the ones I have just recently met) every day of this week. I hope you all get a good night's sleep, and look forward to seeing some of you again tomorrow! :D

-This was actually written 3 days ago; which means that the Ignite event was 2 days ago, Saturday, August 3rd. I think it went very well, maybe even better than I could've hoped for! We had 13 teens come, besides the teens/leaders from our youth group. Things went really smoothly and overall, I really feel like God had it planned just as he wanted it to be and that he was with us every step of the way. I'm so grateful that God gave two of my friends this idea and that God carried this idea out into a plan, which then became an event, which I really do hope encouraged others in their walk with the Lord. Thank you so much to my friends, Josh and Emily, for obeying God and doing this event. Everyone worked so hard to help bring this together, but I wanted to especially thank you two. But none of this could've been done without God's foreseeing it through. So I want to thank you God, for seeing this through and for being there with us every step of the way. Without you, this couldn't have been made possible. But through you all things are possible.

Wow! A lot has happened in the past several months since I last blogged. My brother, Christian is getting married in less than 2 weeks to his very sweet fiance', Rose. So as I'm sure you can imagine we're all busy trying to finish planning the last details for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. I am excited, to be sure! But this is all so very new to me since I don't have any other older siblings who have been married, (Christian is my only older sibling). With Christian not at home as often anymore and since  he is about to move out, this may sound kind of silly but in a way I'm starting to feel like the "oldest" sibling now, well at least at home. :) Anyways...I'm looking forward to the wedding! I just hope we don't all get too overwhelmed with the last minute preparations that must be done! :)


Last weekend I read a wonderful book called, Prize of My Heart by Lisa Norato. I stayed up all night reading it, I just couldn't seem to put it down! It really is a very good book and I highly reccomend it!

 

 

 

October 31st, my church is having a fall festival! There will be trunk-or-treats, games, a moonwalk, cupcake-walk, and food. The fall festival is entirely FREE and will last from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at Grace Communitty Fellowship Church. I'm very excited about it and I hope you can come!!!!!

Thankful for my Math "Tutor" :)

I am behind in math and it can get very frustrating for me just thinking about it sometimes -and it can get even more frustrating when I'm having trouble with my math. My sister, Elizabeth, and I have been working on math together for a little while now and although we're both a little behind, I am more behind than she is because I am older than her, so sometimes I've been kind of prideful towards her when she's tried to help me with a problem I'm just not getting. (Am I  making any sense?) There's been quite a few times when we've both wanted to just work separately because we can get annoyed at each other, but since we're both at the same level of math, my mom would like us to keep working together. -Not only because we're at the same level so we might as well, but also because my mom thinks it is a good learning experience for Elizabeth and I to learn to work together, which is something (I'm just being honest here) we are not all that good at! -but hopefully we've improved a bit and will continue to improve! After church tonight, Elizabeth and I had to do some math because we had put it off during the day (which is the real reason we're behind in math, we kept on procrastinating to do our work regularly enough.) So yes, we're having to work on it over the summer and hopefully catch up a lot! I was having trouble though with some geometry problems tonight -really a lot of geometry problems. But Elizabeth, who understood the concept of the geometry problems better than I did (she seems to have a knack for this whole geometry stuff!) helped "tutor" me with almost every problem I had trouble on. She was a really good tutor! -and very patient towards me. :) And by the time I finished tonight and had taken a quiz, I understood the stuff I was having trouble with a lot better than I probably would've if I was just doing the math on my own. I really didn't even feel that embarrassed that I was having trouble on those geometry problems and needed my younger sister's help. I really felt thankful that she was there, being very understanding towards me and helping me along. I felt a little humbled too, but in a good way! I just hope that next time I feel pride start to fill up inside of me when I think I know better than somebody or I think I'm "too good" for their help, that I remember this and that I listen carefully and humbly to what they have to say or what they're trying to help me with. Because really, (in my opinion) that is the better choice. So thank you Elizabeth for tutoring me tonight! It really was a blessing! :)

Well, I don't always post pictures on here but I thought I'd share a few late Easter pictures. :)

~Sweet Sixteen~

Last Saturday was my 16th birthday. I had a lovely birthday, celebrating with my family and my grandma! My grandma came Saturday to celebrate with us and she brought a divine lemon cake that she made! (I love lemon cake!) We went to the Chattahoochee Bend State Park, (that is a new state park that opened up near us last year.) I really enjoy going there when I get the chance and I had fun trail running there on my birthday. Afterwards we came home, had dinner, cake, presents, and a good time! I had a very lovely sweet sixteenth birthday, but I think my favorite part was the day before my birthday. :)

Friday afternoon, Mom and Dad took me out for a surprise dinner at the Blue Willow Inn! I didn't know where they were taking me, all I knew was that Mom said she and Dad wanted to take me out and spend some time just with me for my birthday. It took us a while to get there but it was worth it! The Blue Willow Inn was so beautiful with its old-fashioned look. There was a beautiful garden on the side of the restaurant and there was a young man strumming on the banjo to welcome us in. When I entered the restaurant, it was even more lovely then I thought it would be! It felt like I had gone back in time and had entered a house similar to one you might see in the Anne of Green Gables movies. I felt nervous! But my nerves soon calmed and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was perhaps the best Southern food I'd ever had -except for my mom's and my Grandma's southern cooking. I just loved the experience!

Before we had gone inside to eat, Mom and Dad gave me a very special early birthday gift in the garden. I opened a little box and pulled out a ring. It was my purity ring, a sign that I will stay pure until (and after) I get married. I will treasure it always. <3

I hope y'all had a wonderful and blessed Easter Sunday! -Oh and may I just say how lovely the weather has been lately! Its too beautiful to stay indoors all day -speaking of which I've been indoors all day. I think I 'll go get some fresh air and warm sunshine!!

Upcoming Missions Trip, Healthy Eating, Birthday & This Lovely Weather!

Well shello! That is a new way I like to say "hello". I do come up with some strange ideas. :D  I hope all of you have been doing well lately.

We have been quite busy lately, mainly with things at church and such, in fact my youth group and I are having another small "fundraiser" at our church in a couple weeks. We're going to serve lunch after church on the 15th of April, although this fundraiser is going to be smaller than our past ones, the income will be based on donation (I think). Which is good! Every bit helps! Now you're probably wondering why my youth group is trying to raise money. Well you guessed it! Its for another summer missions trip, but this year we will be going to Minnesota, instead of LaGrange, Wyoming. To be honest, I wish we were going back to Wyoming this year instead of Minnesota. I made friends in Wyoming and the town, oh the town! LaGrange is perhaps the most charming, little town I've ever been to in my life. It is not a large town -only about 3 miles big, and the roads are mainly dirt roads. There is a little grocery store there, very small and cute, and the college there, Frontier School of the Bible, takes up most of the town -and I'm sure most of the talk. :) (Last year we went there to work at the college.) I absolutely loved LaGrange, Wyoming. It actually reminded me a little of the town from Little House on the Prairie. Perhaps that's why I liked it so well. :) Anyways, although I am a bit sad and disappointed to not be going back to LaGrange, I'm still looking forward to the wonderful fellowship and the things God is going to do during our missions trip to Minnesota! Besides, I've never been to Minnesota! -which does make me curious and will make the trip more exciting. :)


My family has made some changes in our diet, mainly because my dad has been having a few minor heart problems (which could become serious if he does not take care of them.) So we have all been making some changes, trying to eat healthier and such. Quite a few of us have been eating oatmeal more lately to the point that some of us our craving oatmeal! -We've even had it in the evening sometimes. ;D Because we've been trying to buy mainly organic and healthier food products lately, I think my sweet tooth is acting up. My brother's birthday is Saturday but we are going to celebrate it tomorrow (he and his fiance' are spending most of the day together on his birthday) and I can't wait to eat some cookie cake!

I got my driver's permit today! :D


What do you think of the weather we've been having lately? I have been loving it! It is just so beautiful outside! One of my favorite things to do is take a walk in the woods! I'm surrounded by God's beauty, the dogwoods blooming everywhere, a canopy of pink blossoms from the crab apple trees, and luscious green leaves, big and small everywhere I go. I just feel so refreshed after walking in the woods, surrounded by God's incredible beauty! Especially during this time of year it is so neat to take a walk in the woods because everything seems to be coming back to life again! -However I also do love the colored leaves during the autumn season and its so neat to see the woods suddenly become a winter wonderland, covered in snow during some of the few winter snows Georgia gets. We did not get one this year did we? -Oh and of course its always nice to take walks in the woods during summer too -its just a little more hot then. ;) But that's why the shade of the trees is good. Every season is wonderful just the way God has created it.
