For those of you that live in the southern parts of Georgia, you probably remember what the weather was like today. The sky was pouring rain while huge claps of thunder and bright flashes of lightning filled the sky. The storm was quite severe. It was even reported several times over the radio that the citizens really needed to be careful while on their way to work, because the streets were flooding and there was a tornado watch going on from 6:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Well, my mom, Elizabeth, Abigail, and I were only a few of the many people traveling through the most dangerous part of the storm that day.
It was Monday, which meant that Mommy, my sisters, and I would have to be out the door anywhere from seven to seven-thirty so that we wouldn't be late at our co-op group. I woke up to loud claps of thunder around 6:30 a.m. I listed and watched for a moment thinking, 'It must be around four or five in the morning for a storm to still be so wild. Then, I realized that my clock read six-thirty and I then I began to wonder how long this storm was really going to last.
Anyway, the moment we pulled out of our driveway, things were very dark. Only the dim car lights, the street lamps, and the flickers of lightning kept us from total darkness. I was continuously praying for our safety and everyone else's safety. God comforted me and I think even my mom a little bit. Every song that was played on the J93.3 radio seemed to be saying, 'You'll get through this! Keep pressing onward.' That voice was my Father's.
although the storm was still going on, the sky was starting to lighten up a bit. The lightning however had knocked the power out of a light post in the middle of a four-way intersection. The light was blinking red. How much more chaotic could this morning get? Not much, because instead of every driver trying to go where they needed to go first, everyone seemed very considerate, letting others go before themselves. Treating others the way they'd like to be treated. Doesn't that remind you of a scriptuer? 'Treat others the way you want...........'
We made it to our co-op safely and a bonus, on time! It just goes to show how good and faithful God is! Has He done something in your life? Even as small as leading you out of a storm? Think about it. He probably has.
Yeah, that was a chaotic morning, but I'm glad you are alright.
