Ever feel really stressed or anxious about something? Maybe you're stressed about an argument between your dad and your brother or you and your mom. Maybe you're worried and anxious about a doctor appointment you have tomorrow, or about how you're ever going to get all your schoolwork done in time. A grandparent who is very ill? Financial trouble that your parents are stressed out about, which stresses you out too? A loved one or a friend who is not walking with the Lord? All these things in our lives can make us anxious and stressed out to the point that we want to just sit down and cry and forget about them.
Right now, I am stressed out about the school work that I need to have turned in Thursday at a co-op we go to. I feel kind of helpless and I wish I could just stop doing it and not have to worry about it. But no! We have to say NO! when we feel like giving up! Giving up won't solve our problems, and it certainly won't make things any better. But there is something we can do about are worries.
PRAY!
We can pray to our loving God. He cares about us and he doesn't want us to worry. This morning, during my quiet time with the Lord, this is one of the scriptures I read (NIV version):
Philippians 4: 6-7
"6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Thank you Lord for always being here for us. Thank you for always listening to our prayers and giving us strength.
