My 1st Pie Contest

Ever since my neighbor mentioned that I should enter into a pie contest, I had been wanting to do that. Last week, I finally got to. :)

Last Monday, I baked one of my apple pies to enter into the Coweta County Fair and on Tuesday, Mom and I dropped it off at the Coweta Extension Office before piano lessons. Later that week though, we found out that I was supposed to also enter in my pie recipe, so we became worried that because I didn't enter in my pie recipe, I may have been disqualified.

On Saturday, October 1st, Mommy dropped Elizabeth and I off at the Coweta County Fair to have some fun with some friends, (and I also wanted to see what happened to my pie.) Elizabeth and I walked into one of the exibit rooms and I was so thrilled to find my pie, displayed on a table with a 1st place blue ribbon, a participation ribbon, and a purple ribbon for the "best pie in the pie division" (there was a cream pie and a fruit pie contest.) It seemed almost too good to be true that I kept on rechecking that it was my pie with my name on the paper card! I was just so excited!

Sunday, after we had run some errands after church, we went to pick up my pie. I felt so happy as I went home with my ribbons, a $45 check reward, and my apple pie. It was a very happy experience I won't forget. I am sure that all the other pies must've tasted so yummy and I'm sure a lot of hard work was put into them, but I am so greatful that the Lord allowed me to win this pie contest. :)

God bless all of you! I hope that y'all have a blessed and wonderful week!

Love,
          Anne
