Happy Thanksgiving! /Our Trip

                HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Psalm 95:2
"Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song."

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

This year, my family, my future sister-in-law, Rose and I traveled to Blacksburg, Virginia to spend Thanksgiving with my Grandpa and my Step Grandma. We had a good Thanksgiving and my Grandma especially worked hard to try and make us feel comfortable and welcome. She made a lovely Thanksgiving dinner, as well as many other meals and she showed so much hospitality. It was good to see my Grandpa and my Grandma but I especially enjoyed getting to know my Step Grandma more. I could really tell that she loved us and wanted us to feel welcome at their new house and I really enjoyed playing her piano, not only because it had a beautiful, clear sound (not to mention I can't help but play if there's a piano), but I really liked how much she enjoyed hearing me play. :) My grandpa is kind of rough, so at times the trip wasn't very pleasant, but I think they were glad that we came and I feel like my respect and love for my Step Grandma has grown more and I miss her.

I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery that we saw on our way back home. The mountains and scenery in Virginia and West Virginia were beautiful. It was also fun driving through downtown Cincinatti, Ohio at night. The shop/resturaunt lights were really cool and there was even a couple horse drawn carriages, one looked liked how Cinderella's might have looked! There was a huge Christmas tree and music too. For my first time going to Cincinatti, it was pretty cool at night with all the lights!

On our way to Blacksburg, Virgina, we also stopped to look at a quaint, little town called Winston/Salem, North Carolina. We sat down in the old church and we went to the town bakery. We bought a few things in the bakery, including vanilla extract and chocolate extract! Of all the places we went to, Kentucky was probably my favorite state. We went to the Creation Museum, which was very, very cool! I'd definetly reccomend it for homeschoolers and public schoolers. We learned a lot and we had a great time. We drove around Lexington, Kentucky to look at horse farms. Unfortunately, I could barely keep my eyes open because I was so tired. So I slept through most of it.We also went to the Kentucky Derby Horse Park at night. They had many lights, it was almost like a miniature Calaway Gardens! Abigail got to ride a camel and there was a petting zoo. The goats were my favorite! -I really would like to have goats! I think my favorite part about the trip though was the rolling hills of Kentucky. The Kentucky scenery with the hills and the farms were just so beautiful. I absolutely loved it.

We did pass through a couple more states such as South Carolina and Tennessee but we were just on the highway while passing through those states. The trip was very nice. We all became a little cranky at times (especially me, unfortuanely) but we did have a good time and God is so good. :)

I'm thankful for my God and my family and friends. I am thankful for God's free gift of salvation that we can receive because of Jesus Christ.

How was your Thanksgiving?
Did you travel? or did you celebrate Thanksgiving at your home sweet home?
What are you most thankful for?

Looking forward to Christmas!!!

Love, Anne
