Time to Catch Up!

Well, I'd say its time to catch up on some things! First off:

                                             HAPPY 4th of JULY!

I hope that all of you had a very fun 4th of July!

Usually my family and I would have hot dogs and other good things to eat for either lunch or dinner on the 4th, my mom would make her yummy sugar-cookie cake with strawberries, blueberries, and icing on the top, and later we'd go out to see fireworks. This year Elizabeth stayed the night at my cousins house and Christian spent the day with his sweet girlfriend. So Mom, Dad, Abigail and I followed through with our plans and went to the 4th of July picnic that our church has every year. This however was our first year that we went.

I didn't eat anything because I wasn't very hungry but I'm sure that everything was delicious! There was also a softball game which Dad and I played with a lot of my friends. I was pretty nervous to the point that I almost didn't play because I knew that I wasn't very good, but after much encouragement, I finally decided to play and i had a lot of fun! -So did Dad!

Later, in the afternoon Dad dropped me off to watch the fireworks at the Pitts' house, (some of our friends from church.) There was some lightning and thunder before the fireworks started and almost right after the fireworks started, it began pouring rain! It was pretty humorous to me standing under a tree, next to a couple of my friends, with a blanket over our heads, in the pouring rain and lightning! Everyone went inside or on the porch to watch the fireworks. It was definitely a 4th of July I and many of my friends won't soon forget!

July 3rd: Mom and Dad's Big 40th B-day Party/4th of July Party!

My Granny and Papa Bear wanted to make a big deal out of Mommy and Daddy turning forty, so she invited my Aunt Laurie, Uncle Mike, and cousins, Joey and Jenny, Christian's girlfriend, and of course us to her house for a big 40th b-day party/4th of July party. It was a lot of fun. Mommy and Daddy opened some gifts (some were gag gifts!), we all ate dinner, and had dessert, including a cake for Mommy and Daddy. :)

Later on we lit mini fireworks. I got a little too excited with the fireworks. ;D

It was a fun day/evening! And my siblings and I have had a lot of fun joking around with Mom and Dad about how now they're "old!"

July 2nd:                     HAPPY 40th Birthday Daddy!

A new state park called the Chattahoochee Bend opened last weekend. It is very close to us and Dad wanted to go to it on his birthday. We ended up seeing some of our friends from church there too so that was a very pleasant surprise. :) We went hiking on the trails and we all enjoyed the park very much. There are camping sites, r.v. camping sites, hiking trails, and of course the famous Chattahoochee River! I'm looking forward to going camping, tubing, and hiking the trails again.

Daddy made ribs and tenderloin earlier in the day for lunch and requested shrimp scampi for dinner. I guess I wasn't really a huge fan of the ribs but that's okay. :)

Christian came home shortly after dinner and then we went outside and took turns hitting a big number "40" pinate! I think Daddy really enjoyed that, he even said, "I don't think I ever had a pinate before!" After that we went inside and sang "Happy Birthday", cut the coconut cake and Daddy opened his gifts.

It was a fun birthday and I really think Daddy enjoyed it. :)

June 25th:               HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY MOMMY!

For Mommy's birthday, her mom (my Grandma) came over and spent the day with us. We all, (except Christian) went antique shopping in downtown Hogansville because Mommy really likes to shop in antique shops. :) I had a very hard time staying awake though and some of the time I couldn't helpit but to simply sleep in the car because I had stayed up all night at a party I had had the night before. Mommy had a very nice time though, especially with Grandma and we all came home with many cute and old fashioned things that Mommy had found in the antique stores that she liked.

We picked up chinese food for dinner from Dynasty. Yum!

We had sang "Happy Birthday" to Mommy and cut her ice cream cake earlier in the day before we went antique shopping because Mommy wanted Christian to be with her while we did it. (Christian had to either go to work or was needed at church for something. He is pretty busy now.)

So instead of a lot of gifts, Mommy got to go antique shopping instead. But a couple of us still had a little gift for her and some birthday cards. :)

I hope that Mommy had a very nice and happy 40th birthday! :)

June 24th:                          YA! My Pirate Party!

Well, my birthday was on April 7th, but I wasn't able to have a party because poor Mommy was still recovering a lot from her hysterectomy. So I had my party on the 24th and the theme was "A Pirate Party!" I had alot of fun with some of my very dear friends. :)

June 23rd:          A Visit From Some Very Dear Friends!

On June 23rd Elizabeth and I had some of our very dear friends over -Jenna and Autumn! It was a very pleasant time of girlish fun! I love these girls so much, they are such fun to be around and I am so glad that I am friends with such godly, sweet young ladies. :)

June 11th:                                        The Wedding!

June 11th was a very special day for the newly wed couple, Sarah and John. They are so sweet together and I know that it was a most memorable day they will never forget. I hope that they have a very wonderful life together and I believe they will. I wish the best for both of them!

It was pretty exciting for me too because I had never been to a wedding in my life and had been looking forward to it.

June 2nd:                               Christian's Graduation!

Christian and Matt graduated from his 1st year in the college interniship program he was taking. The internship program consisted of two years worth of Bible courses in one year. That's why I like to call it the 2-in-1 year internship program. Matt was given the award of valedictorian. His speech made both his mom and my mom cry, and me! it was a very sweet heartfelt speech.

After all of the interns were given their certificates, there was a masquerade theme dinner and then the interns and the leaders were given chances to speak about what memories they had from the internship program. Oh, and instead of wearing a masquerade mask, Christan decided to wear his clone trooper mask. Classic!

I was a very nice graduation program and I know that Christian is very relieved to be done with the internship program.

I am proud of Christian and Matt. It was a difficult year for both of them but they kept on keep'n on. (aka didn't give up.)

Well, that was a lot and I don't blame you if you don't read it all! It was a lot to type too! Summer has been pretty busy and at times I wish it wouldn't be so busy, but its at times when you're bored doing nothing that you want to be busy. So I encourage you to keep on staying busy this summer. If you feel like you have nothing to do, go do a load of laundrey or dishes. Or maybe go weed the garden or just take a walk outside and enjoy the beautiful friesh air! Live life to its fullest and enjoy everday that God gives you, because each one is different. :) I hope you have a blessed day!

Love,
         Anne
